Overview
A two-day private summit-and-camp trek up 2,061m Qiyun Mountain for a cloud-sea sunset, a night under the stars, and dawn over alpine meadows.
About This Tour
Trade the skyline of southern China for a sea of clouds on this two-day private camping trek up Qiyun Mountain, a 2,061-meter peak rising where Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces meet. With your private English-speaking guide and dedicated coach transfers, you leave the city behind and hike to a high mountain campsite, summit Qiyun in time for a glowing sunset above the clouds, and pitch camp for an unforgettable night of campfire dinners, games and stargazing far from any light pollution. Qiyun is famous for its cloud seas on roughly 260 days a year, so your chances of waking above a rolling white ocean at dawn are excellent. Day two descends through high alpine meadows and the scenic 'Hero's Slope,' offering wide-open ridgeline photography the whole way down. This is a genuine summit-camping experience graded moderate, ideal for active travelers who want China's wild mountain landscapes, a real night on the mountain, and that rare sunrise-above-the-clouds moment, all within reach of Shenzhen. Itinerary may adjust based on weather, road and local regulations. Good to know: • Best season: cloud seas occur on roughly 260 days a year; spring and autumn are most comfortable for camping • Fitness level: moderate; multi-hour ascent to a 2,061m summit campsite carrying your own gear and shared food • Long drive: about 520km / 6 hours each way from Shenzhen • Summit campsite tents are limited; pre-book at checkout (about RMB 120/tent incl. 2 sleeping bags and a thin mat) or bring your own • Nights at altitude are cold; bring warm layers, headlamp and your own toiletries

Day 1: Shenzhen to Qiyun Summit Camp | Cloud-Sea Sunset
Meet your guide in Shenzhen around 07:15 and set off by private coach for the roughly 520km, 6-hour drive (with service-area stops) toward Ganzhou, with an icebreaker and route briefing along the way. Reach the foot of Qiyun Mountain in early afternoon, warm up, and begin the ascent to the high campsite, arriving around 18:00. Drop your packs and push for the 2,061m summit to catch a cloud-sea sunset, with plenty of time for photography. Set up camp (bring your own tent or pre-book a summit rental tent, supply is limited), then fire up the stoves for a shared campsite dinner, followed by a relaxed evening of games, conversation and stargazing under exceptionally dark skies. Hiking intensity is moderate and you carry your own gear plus a share of the food. Meals: free/AA (campsite dinner). Overnight: tent camping at the summit campsite.
