13-Day A Broad Taste of China

Thirteen days felt like the perfect amount of time to actually understand China rather than just tick boxes. We started at the Great Wall in Beijing, flew to Xi'an for the Terracotta Warriors (still mind-blowing in person), then the Li River cruise out of Guilin was the surprise highlight before finishing on the Shanghai Bund. Every internal flight and train was pre-booked and a driver met us each time. Worth every penny.

A genuinely broad sweep of the country. Our guide in Beijing was different from the one in Shanghai, but each was a local expert who knew their own city inside out. The karst scenery around Guilin and the Forbidden City were our two favourite days. Because it was private we could slow down at the Terracotta Army and skip a couple of optional temples when we got tired.

Big itinerary, very well organised over the 13 days. Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin and Shanghai each got proper time. One travel day between cities was a bit long but that's geography, not the company. The Li River day and the Great Wall were unforgettable.

Did this as a couple. Loved that the four cities were so different from each other, imperial Beijing, ancient Xi'an, scenic Guilin and modern Shanghai. The team adjusted our hotel level after the first email and added a Peking duck dinner. Booking over WhatsApp was painless.

Two weeks of highlights without ever feeling rushed because it was just our family. The kids loved the Terracotta Warriors and the bamboo rafts near Guilin. Drivers were punctual at every airport. Shanghai at night from the riverfront was the perfect ending.
