2-Day Changbai Mountain Tianchi Crater Lake Tour from Yanji

Two days from Yanji up to Changbai Mountain to see Tianchi, the crater lake on the China–North Korea border, and it was stunning. The lake sitting in the volcanic caldera with peaks all around felt remote and wild. Soaking in the hot springs afterward and seeing the Korean-Chinese countryside added so much. Worth the early start to beat the clouds on the summit.

Seeing Tianchi (Heaven Lake) on Changbaishan was deeply moving, the crater lake straddling the border is sacred to Koreans too. The volcanic landscape is dramatic and the hot springs were a treat. The Korean-Chinese villages near Yanji felt familiar and welcoming. A meaningful two days with a thoughtful private guide.
