2-Day Wudang Mountain Kung Fu and Taoist Temples Tour

As a martial arts student, visiting Wudang, the birthplace of Tai Chi and Taoist kung fu, was a dream. The live kung fu demonstration by the masters was mesmerising, all flowing power. Climbing to the Golden Hall on the summit, a bronze temple gleaming on the peak, felt like a true ascent. Two days from Wuhan, perfectly paced.

Wudang Shan is a magical mountain wrapped in mist and Taoist temples. The hilltop temple complex with its ancient halls and the climb to the Golden Hall at the summit were unforgettable. The kung fu demonstration was a highlight even for a non-practitioner like me. Our guide explained the Taoist philosophy behind it all.

Two days well spent. The drive from Wuhan is a few hours but the mountain rewards you. The Purple Cloud Temple and the summit Golden Hall are stunning, and the live kung fu show by the Wudang masters was the kind of thing you cannot see anywhere else. A peaceful and atmospheric trip to the home of Taoist martial arts. The summit Golden Hall involves a good climb of stairs after the cable car, so be ready. The kung fu demonstration was brief but impressive. Lots of incense and pilgrims, a really spiritual feel. Good private arrangement from Wuhan.
