Zhangjiajie plus Fenghuang in five days was a brilliant combo. The Avatar Mountain pillars wrapped in mist genuinely look like the film, and the Glass Bridge was a thrilling (terrifying) walk. Tianmen Mountain's cliff road and glass walkway were next level. Then Fenghuang ancient town by the river at night with its lanterns was the perfect calm ending.
Five days that hit every Zhangjiajie highlight, the towering Avatar Mountains, the Glass Bridge over the canyon and Tianmen's 999 steps, then the riverside charm of Fenghuang. The contrast between the dramatic peaks and the gentle ancient town was perfect. Our guide handled all the park shuttles and cable cars.
The Avatar floating mountains were a dream come true and the Glass Bridge gave my husband proper jelly legs! Tianmen Mountain by cable car was stunning. Fenghuang's stilt houses over the water were so photogenic in the evening. A wonderful five-day mix of adventure and culture.
Great five-day tour. Zhangjiajie's scenery is out of this world, especially the Avatar peaks and Tianmen Mountain. Fenghuang ancient town was lovely though a bit touristy. Lots of walking and steps, so be ready for it. Private guide made the logistics painless.
Loved every day. The Glass Bridge and the Avatar Mountains in Zhangjiajie were the adrenaline; Fenghuang on the river was the romance. Our private guide adjusted the schedule when it rained so we did the bridge on a clearer day. Highly recommend the combo.
