Looking back, there was a fair amount in the day, but it never felt like a checklist. The stop at Xi'an's city wall had room to breathe instead of becoming another quick photo.
The unglamorous part: the practical side was solid: an easy pickup, sensible timing between stops, and no long sales detour disguised as sightseeing. I would rather keep the pause at Xi'an's city wall than add another stop.
One thing I learned: lunch landed later than I expected, so a small snack was useful. I was happier not cutting the time at Xi'an's city wall.
Not every minute was engineered into a “moment.” There was time for coffee, questions and simply watching Pingyao go by.
No grand claims from me: this was organised well, felt personal and showed us Pingyao at a sensible pace.
