Your guide provides the historical context while leaving time to walk, photograph the canals and enjoy lunch without rushing between stops. Practically speaking, communication beforehand was straightforward. On the day, the plan was explained once and then everything simply felt easy to follow. I would keep the Shanghai outline as it was.

Honestly, this felt like travelling with someone who knew the area, not following a person holding a flag. That difference showed most at Shanghai. For 1 hour around Shanghai, the pace felt about right.
