Travel from Shanghai into rural Zhejiang for a scenic day centered on Dagangshan. Walk along a hilltop ridge lined with white wind turbines, then move through green tea terraces where the landscape changes from open skyline views to close-up rows of cultivated tea.
The route also includes views over Heping Reservoir, whose jade-green water provides a quieter finish to the day. Hotel pickup, private transport, an English-speaking guide and lunch are included in the published tour setup. Clear weather gives the best long views from the ridge, while the guide can adjust the order or walking time when wind, rain or road conditions require it.

Practically speaking, the useful part in Shanghai was having someone explain how to order the same dishes later. I left with names in my phone, not just photos. I would rather keep the pause at Dagangshan Windmills & Tea Fields Day than add another stop.

Honestly, I would book this again for the pacing, not because every stop was spectacular. The ordinary transitions made Shanghai feel like a place rather than a set of postcards.
