One detail from the day: the title makes this sound like a lot of ground to cover. In practice, the Yangshuo countryside and Guilin felt like two distinct parts of the trip, not the same day repeated.

The meeting instructions were clear and we knew what came next without being herded around. In Guilin, that saved a surprising amount of energy. For this itinerary, the number of stops was enough.

A practical note: one stop was more crowded than the others. The quieter time around the Yangshuo countryside balanced it out.

In hindsight, I liked this more a day later, when I looked back through my photos and realised how different Guilin and the Yangshuo countryside had felt.
