My camera roll says Liangzhu Archaeological Site UNESCO Heritage was the big moment. My actual favourite was Hangzhou; it felt less obvious and more personal.
What helped was simple: our guide read the pace well. We got the background when it helped, then space to explore instead of a running lecture. My only advice is not to shorten the time at Liangzhu Archaeological Site UNESCO Heritage.
Looking back, I carried more than I needed. Water, a light layer and a small power bank would have covered the whole day. The time around Liangzhu Archaeological Site UNESCO Heritage was not the part I would cut.
Looking back, this felt like travelling with someone who knew the area, not following a person holding a flag. That difference showed most at Hangzhou. For 4 hours around Hangzhou, the pace felt about right.
Honestly, a full 4 hours, in the good sense. Wear comfortable shoes and leave the evening loose. I would still leave extra time for Liangzhu Archaeological Site UNESCO Heritage.
