For us, there are plenty of polished photos online; the useful surprise was having time at the trail without being moved along every five minutes. I would rather keep the pause at the trail than add another stop.
Practically speaking, transport to the trailhead was the piece I would not have wanted to arrange myself. Once there, the day felt simple. I would still leave extra time for the trail.
Expect uneven ground and a few sections where conversation stops because everyone is concentrating on their feet. The views near the trail repay the effort. For 12 hours around Xi'an, the pace felt about right.
Honestly, I would book this again for the pacing, not because every stop was spectacular. The ordinary transitions made Xi'an feel like a place rather than a set of postcards. My only advice is not to shorten the time at the trail.
Good pacing, clear pickup and enough time at the trail. That is the whole review. I would keep the Xi'an outline as it was.
