A full Wuhan-essentials day combining the city's two must-see icons. Morning: Yellow Crane Tower — the original was rebuilt 12 times since 223 AD and is the subject of one of China's most famous Tang-dynasty poems by Cui Hao; the current 1985 reconstruction stands on She Hill overlooking the Yangtze. Lunch: Hubei-style hot dry noodles (Re Gan Mian) and Wuchang fish at a riverside restaurant. Afternoon: Hubei Provincial Museum to see the 2,400-year-old Marquis Yi of Zeng Bianzhong (set of 65 bronze bells, the largest pre-Qin musical instrument ever found) and the Goujian Sword. Evening pickup-drop at hotel. Private guide and vehicle.
