Avis des voyageurs
Looking back, by dinner we were still comparing notes about the Great Wall. That is usually how I judge whether a tour was worth doing. With 22 days to work with, the balance felt sensible.
The unglamorous part: the private format mattered most between the main stops. No waiting for a coach to refill and no counting thirty people before moving on. I would still leave extra time for the Terracotta Warriors.
One thing I learned: the early starts caught up with me around the middle of the trip. I would keep the same route, but protect one evening for doing absolutely nothing.
The best compliment I can give is that I never checked how many stops were left. The Terracotta Warriors arrived at just the right point in the route.
In short, I would change my shoes, not the itinerary.
