I went in most excited about Lingyin Temple, Feilai Feng Buddhist Carvings & Hupao Spring Day. Funny enough, Hangzhou is the part I kept talking about afterward.
What helped was simple: our guide read the pace well. We got the background when it helped, then space to explore instead of a running lecture. My only advice is not to shorten the time at Lingyin Temple, Feilai Feng Buddhist Carvings & Hupao Spring Day.
Looking back, I carried more than I needed. Water, a light layer and a small power bank would have covered the whole day. I would keep the Hangzhou outline as it was.
Looking back, this wasn't a “see everything” tour, and that was a strength. The time around Hangzhou felt specific to Hangzhou, not interchangeable with another city.
A full 8 hours, in the good sense. Wear comfortable shoes and leave the evening loose.
