Looking back, there was a fair amount in 7 hours, but it never felt like a checklist. The stop at the Li River had room to breathe instead of becoming another quick photo.
The unglamorous part: pickup, tickets and the order of stops were handled without fuss. That sounds ordinary, but it is exactly what you want on a full sightseeing day. The time around the Yangshuo countryside was not the part I would cut.
One thing I learned: traffic added time to the day, so comfortable shoes and a little patience helped. The visit itself did not feel shortened. I would keep the Guilin outline as it was.
