Transfer out of central Shanghai by bus, collect the provided bicycle and helmet, and begin a long-distance ride around Dianshan Lake and the lesser-known Yuandang Lake. The published route covers about 100 kilometers, mainly using waterside greenways, so it is intended for riders who are comfortable spending much of the day in the saddle.
The circuit links Shanghai's largest lake with quieter shoreline scenery and includes a picnic stop around Jinze water town. Support arrangements, exact regrouping points and the day's pace are confirmed for the booked departure. Bus transfer, bicycle rental, helmet and the picnic are included in the published tour setup; weather and rider safety may require route adjustments.

Honestly, I chose this route for the cycling section, but it didn't feel built around a single attraction. Shanghai gave the day a different rhythm.
We had enough information to understand Shanghai, but it never turned into a classroom. The balance felt natural. My only advice is not to shorten the time at the cycling section.
A practical note: the busiest place on the route was genuinely busy. Starting earlier would be my only change. I would keep the Shanghai outline as it was.
In hindsight, the best compliment I can give is that I never checked how many stops were left. The cycling section arrived at just the right point in the route.
Honestly, I booked mainly for the cycling section. I was glad I did because of Shanghai.
