Evening food walk through Fuzhou's Three Lanes Seven Alleys. Fish balls, lychee meat, Ming-Qing literati quarter, English-speaking guide. Tastings at 6+ stops.
Об этом туре
Three Lanes Seven Alleys is one of the best-preserved old neighborhoods left in any Chinese provincial capital. Tucked into the heart of Fuzhou, the Sanfang Qixiang quarter is a grid of whitewashed Ming-Qing courtyards, granite-paved lanes, and family mansions that for 400 years housed the city's scholar-officials and literati. Walk it after dark and the lanterns come on, the food stalls open, and the place turns into a slow-moving open-air dinner.
This three-hour private evening food walk pairs you with an English-speaking local guide who knows which stall has the best Fuzhou fish balls (springy, hand-pounded, stuffed with pork), where to find proper lychee meat (sweet-and-sour pork shaped to look like lychees), and which old shop still sells traditional peanut soup the way grandmothers made it. You taste at six or seven stops — small portions, so you can keep going — while your guide explains the Ming-Qing literati culture that produced the neighborhood and the famous Fuzhou natives (statesmen, scholars, naval reformers) who grew up in these courtyards.
Evening itinerary:
- 17:00 — Pickup from your Fuzhou hotel (central districts)
- 17:30 — Enter Sanfang Qixiang at the south gate; walk Nanhou Street, the main spine
- 17:45 — Stop 1: Fuzhou fish balls — try them in the original clear broth
- 18:15 — Stop 2: peanut soup and traditional fried-dough sticks at a family-run shop
- 18:45 — Walk Yijin Lane and visit a Ming-Qing courtyard mansion (one of the smaller free-entry ones)
- 19:00 — Stop 3: lychee meat (sweet-and-sour pork) at a sit-down local restaurant
- 19:30 — Stops 4–6: oyster omelet, sticky rice taro cake, jasmine tea at a local teahouse (Fuzhou is China's original jasmine-tea capital)
- 20:00 — Drop-off at your Fuzhou hotel
Who this is for: Eaters, first-night arrivals in Fuzhou who want an easy introduction to the city, couples, families with kids age 5+ who can walk for two hours. Vegetarian eaters welcome — let us know in advance and we'll swap the stops.
Logistics: All food tastings, hotel pickup and drop-off in central Fuzhou, and English-speaking guide included. Total food is roughly a light dinner — don't eat beforehand. The walk runs year-round; in light rain we continue under the lane awnings.

Отзывы
One of the best days of our trip. China is a must, and the private format is so much better.
Our family loved the China tour — the guide was patient with the kids and very flexible.
