Underground river cave system and a 600-year Ming-dynasty Han soldier stone village. Private day tour from Anshun with English-speaking guide.
Об этом туре
A cave river and a 600-year-old garrison village, in the same day. Anshun sits in central Guizhou's karst belt, halfway between Guiyang and Huangguoshu, and it hides two stories most foreign visitors never hear. The first is Longgong — "Dragon Palace" — a long underground river cave system you explore partly by boat through chambers of stalactites and floodlit limestone halls. The second is Tianlong Tunpu, one of the best-preserved Tunpu villages: small fortified settlements founded in the late 1300s by Han Chinese soldiers sent south by the early Ming dynasty to garrison the frontier. Their descendants are still there. The women still wear the wide blue jackets and silver-pinned hairstyles their great-great-grandmothers wore in the 1400s, and the houses are built of dark grey stone — walls, roof tiles, courtyards, all stone — like a Cotswolds village transplanted to subtropical China.
This private day tour pairs the two so you get one half-day of natural-karst spectacle and one half-day of unusual Han-cultural enclave. Your English-speaking guide unpacks how a frontier military settlement survived six dynasties largely unchanged.
