Looking back, the dish we made in Guangzhou was not restaurant-perfect, which made me like it more. We had made it ourselves and understood what went into it.

The unglamorous part: the Guangzhou meeting point was simple to find, and the food stops came at a sensible pace. There was time to ask what we were eating rather than just moving to the next plate.
Before you go, come hungry in Guangzhou and say clearly what you cannot eat. There was enough variety that skipping one item did not make the experience feel smaller. For this itinerary, the number of stops was enough.
The best compliment I can give is that I never checked how many stops were left. The cooking session arrived at just the right point in the route.
