About This Tour
Discover the Shaolin Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a private day trip from Zhengzhou. Explore the temple with a guide, visit the Pagoda Forest, and take a cable car to the top of Mt. Song. Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Zhengzhou and head to the Shaolin Temple, located in Dengfeng County, Henan province. The temple was originally built in 495 in the Northern Wei Dynasty (368-534) and is reputed to be 'the Number One Temple under Heaven'. Accompanied by your tour guide, first visit Shanmen Hall, Hall of Heavenly Kings, and Thousand-Buddha Hall. Then, visit the Pagoda Forest at Shaolin Temple, the most interesting part of the whole complex. Take a cable car up to Mt. Song accompanied by your tour guide. Sanhuang Village is the highlight on Mt. Song. If you are able to fit this, you can keep going all the way to the top Temple. Otherwise, you can walk to the suspension bridge and enjoy the scenery in the distance. Then, take a cable car down. After enjoying a local lunch, transfer back to your hotel in Zhengzhou.
