雅鲁藏布大峡谷三日游（拉萨出发）

The deepest canyon on Earth — and the easiest part of Tibet to breathe in. The Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon plunges 5,300+ meters where the river horseshoes around the 7,782m peak of Namcha Barwa. The Nyingchi region itself sits between 2,900 and 3,400m, which is much gentler on the lungs than Lhasa, and the landscape is unexpectedly forested — peach blossoms in spring, golden larch in autumn, evergreens year-round.

This 3-day trip drives east from Lhasa to Nyingchi prefecture, spends one night near the canyon mouth, and uses Pailong as the staging point for the main viewpoint over the river bend. Like everywhere else in Tibet, all foreign visitors need a Tibet Travel Permit (we prepare it in Lhasa before departure). The Nyingchi area sometimes also requires an Alien Travel Permit — included when applicable.

Itinerary outline:

• Day 1 — 08:00 pickup from your Lhasa hotel; drive east on the new expressway (~5-6 hrs) to Nyingchi (~2,900m); afternoon stop at a viewpoint along the Niyang River; overnight in Bayi town
• Day 2 — Drive to the canyon area via Pailong; the main viewpoint over the Tsangpo bend with Namcha Barwa behind (weather permitting); riverside walk; overnight near the canyon
• Day 3 — Morning at a secondary viewpoint and the surrounding forest; drive back to Lhasa; drop-off at your hotel around 18:00

Who this is for: Travelers who want a Tibet experience that isn't punishingly high — Nyingchi is the gentlest entry point in the region. Minimum age 10. Good for families with older children, photographers, anyone who wants forest and river scenery alongside the standard plateau views. Also a smart add-on after Lhasa as a "come down to breathe" few days.

Logistics: Tibet Travel Permit (and Alien Travel Permit if Nyingchi requires one on your dates) included. Private vehicle with Tibetan driver and English-speaking guide. Two nights' accommodation: 3-star in Bayi town and a local guesthouse near the canyon. Namcha Barwa visibility is weather-dependent — clearest in October-November and March-April. Breakfast included; lunch and dinner at local restaurants en route (budget USD 10-20/day).
