Traveler Reviews
A small thing I appreciated: the guide let the trail speak for itself sometimes. Not every quiet moment needed another speech. For 8 hours around Wulian, the pace felt about right.
The unglamorous part: the route was explained before we set out, including the parts that would take more effort. I prefer that to discovering the hard section halfway up.
One thing I learned: the trail is more physical than the tidy itinerary makes it sound. Proper shoes helped, and I was glad we kept water handy. With 8 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
We booked because arranging Wulian ourselves looked fiddly. We came away remembering the conversations as much as the places.
I would change my shoes, not the itinerary. For this itinerary, the number of stops was enough.
