Honestly, I chose this route for the Longji rice terraces, but it didn't feel built around a single attraction. Guilin gave the day a different rhythm. My only advice is not to shorten the time at the Longji rice terraces.
The meeting instructions were clear and we knew what came next without being herded around. In Guilin, that saved a surprising amount of energy. With 8 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
A practical note: one stop was more crowded than the others. The quieter time around the Longji rice terraces balanced it out. For 8 hours around Guilin, the pace felt about right.
In hindsight, the route made more sense once we were on it. Time at Guilin set the pace, while the Longji rice terraces gave us a reason to slow down.
