In hindsight, I expected the Potala Palace to be the headline, and it was. What I didn't expect was how much context from the guide changed what I noticed there.

Practically speaking, the route through Lhasa could be awkward to arrange independently. Having one person keep the timing straight made the whole thing calmer.

I underestimated how much standing the day involved. A short sit-down between stops made the second half much easier. With 4 days to work with, the balance felt sensible.

Honestly, I would book this again for the pacing, not because every stop was spectacular. The ordinary transitions made Lhasa feel like a place rather than a set of postcards.
