One detail from the day: the title makes this sound like a lot of ground to cover. In practice, the Zhangjiajie peaks and Zhangjiajie felt like two distinct parts of the trip, not the same day repeated.
This worked for us because we didn't have to solve transport between Zhangjiajie and the Zhangjiajie peaks. We could pay attention to the places, not the logistics.
A practical note: the busiest place on the route was genuinely busy. Starting earlier would be my only change.
In hindsight, the route made more sense once we were on it. Time at Zhangjiajie set the pace, while the Zhangjiajie peaks gave us a reason to slow down.
In short, the guide knew when to explain and when to stop talking. Rare, and appreciated.
