The part around Fruit Picking & Farmhouse Feast was unhurried, which mattered more to me than squeezing in one more stop. Chongqing was a good counterpoint.
What helped was simple: our guide read the pace well. We got the background when it helped, then space to explore instead of a running lecture. The time around Fruit Picking & Farmhouse Feast was not the part I would cut.
Looking back, I would check the weather and dress in layers. We moved between the vehicle, open spaces and indoor sites often enough to notice the difference. I would rather keep the pause at Fruit Picking & Farmhouse Feast than add another stop.
Looking back, I would book this again for the pacing, not because every stop was spectacular. The ordinary transitions made Chongqing feel like a place rather than a set of postcards.
In short, a full 5 hours, in the good sense. Wear comfortable shoes and leave the evening loose.
