For us, what stayed with me wasn't the booking or the car. It was the time at Zhujiajiao WaterTown with Boat Ride from SH, when we could slow down and actually look around.
Practically speaking, communication beforehand was straightforward. On the day, the plan was explained once and then everything simply felt easy to follow. The time around Zhujiajiao WaterTown with Boat Ride from SH was not the part I would cut.
I underestimated how much standing the day involved. A short sit-down between stops made the second half much easier. For 5 hours and 30 minutes around Shanghai, the pace felt about right.
Honestly, this felt like travelling with someone who knew the area, not following a person holding a flag. That difference showed most at Shanghai. With 5 hours and 30 minutes to work with, the balance felt sensible.
