Looking back, by dinner we were still comparing notes about 2days to Shiyan Wudang Mountain. That is usually how I judge whether a tour was worth doing.
The unglamorous part: the private format mattered most between the main stops. No waiting for a coach to refill and no counting thirty people before moving on. The time around 2days to Shiyan Wudang Mountain was not the part I would cut.
One thing I learned: lunch landed later than I expected, so a small snack was useful. I was happier not cutting the time at 2days to Shiyan Wudang Mountain.
We booked because arranging this part of China ourselves looked fiddly. We came away remembering the conversations as much as the places.
