My camera roll says Sanya Cultural was the big moment. My actual favourite was Sanya; it felt less obvious and more personal.
What helped was simple: our guide read the pace well. We got the background when it helped, then space to explore instead of a running lecture. For 9 hours around Sanya, the pace felt about right.
Looking back, I carried more than I needed. Water, a light layer and a small power bank would have covered the whole day. I would rather keep the pause at Sanya Cultural than add another stop.
Looking back, I had a long list of things I thought I needed to see. After Sanya, I was happier slowing down and noticing fewer things properly.
Honestly, a full 9 hours, in the good sense. Wear comfortable shoes and leave the evening loose. With 9 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
