I went in most excited about the trail. Funny enough, Shanghai is the part I kept talking about afterward.
What helped was simple: transport to the trailhead was the piece I would not have wanted to arrange myself. Once there, the day felt simple. My only advice is not to shorten the time at the trail.
Looking back, my legs noticed the climbs the next morning. I would still do the same route, just with lighter shoes and fewer things in my daypack. With 10 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
Looking back, I tend to switch off when tours become a stream of dates. Here, the stories around Shanghai gave me enough to hold on to without overloading the day.
In short, a full 10 hours, in the good sense. Wear comfortable shoes and leave the evening loose.
