One detail from the day: the title makes this sound like a lot of ground to cover. In practice, the Zhangjiajie peaks and Xi'an and Zhangjiajie felt like two distinct parts of the trip, not the same day repeated.
We had enough information to understand Xi'an and Zhangjiajie, but it never turned into a classroom. The balance felt natural.
A practical note: the busiest place on the route was genuinely busy. Starting earlier would be my only change. I would still leave extra time for the Zhangjiajie peaks.
In hindsight, the route made more sense once we were on it. Time at Xi'an and Zhangjiajie set the pace, while the Zhangjiajie peaks gave us a reason to slow down.
