Chongqing Private Car Guided Multi Day Tour

Chongqing is a mind-bending city and having a private car and guide made it easy to navigate the chaos of roads stacked on roads. Hongya Cave lit up at night looks like something out of Spirited Away. Ciqikou Ancient Town for snacks, and of course the hotpot, the spiciest meal of my life in the city that invented it.

The mountain city views are the whole point and our guide knew every photo spot, the monorail that goes through a building, the layered alleys, the rooftop bars overlooking the rivers. Two days with a private car let us cover Ciqikou, Hongya Cave and several viewpoints without battling the metro. A bit of adventure in every transfer.

Chongqing surprised me, it is unlike any other Chinese city, all bridges, cliffs and neon. The private car was essential here, walking the hilly terrain is exhausting. Hongya Cave at night was packed but spectacular. Ciqikou old town was touristy but the street food was fantastic. Good guide, flexible itinerary.

Came mainly for the hotpot and the night views and left loving the whole city. Our guide took us to a local hotpot spot, not a tourist trap, and walked us through ordering. The Hongya Cave riverside lights and the Yangtze cable car were unforgettable. Two days of private touring was the perfect length.
