I went in most excited about Tianmu Mountain Ancient Forest Day. Funny enough, Shanghai is the part I kept talking about afterward.
What helped was simple: there was no theatrical “VIP” treatment, just useful organisation and a guide who noticed when we needed a pause. That suited us. I would keep the Shanghai outline as it was.
Looking back, I carried more than I needed. Water, a light layer and a small power bank would have covered the whole day. My only advice is not to shorten the time at Tianmu Mountain Ancient Forest Day.
