Honestly, I had seen plenty of photos of Yunnan Impression Show, hotel pick-up and drop-off. Being there was quieter and more absorbing than I expected, and I stopped checking my phone for a while.
The meeting instructions were clear and we knew what came next without being herded around. In Lijiang, that saved a surprising amount of energy. I would still leave extra time for Yunnan Impression Show, hotel pick-up and drop-off.
A practical note: the busiest place on the route was genuinely busy. Starting earlier would be my only change. I would rather keep the pause at Yunnan Impression Show, hotel pick-up and drop-off than add another stop.
In hindsight, we booked because arranging Lijiang ourselves looked fiddly. We came away remembering the conversations as much as the places. For 2 hours around Lijiang, the pace felt about right.
