In hindsight, I expected the Terracotta Warriors to be the headline, and it was. What I didn't expect was how much context from the guide changed what I noticed there. For this itinerary, the number of stops was enough.
Practically speaking, communication beforehand was straightforward. On the day, the plan was explained once and then everything simply felt easy to follow. My only advice is not to shorten the time at the Terracotta Warriors.
The pace suited us, but this is not a lazy half day. Leave some space before whatever you plan next. For 8 hours around Xi'an, the pace felt about right.
Honestly, I would book this again for the pacing, not because every stop was spectacular. The ordinary transitions made Xi'an feel like a place rather than a set of postcards. With 8 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
Honestly, I came with questions, left with more questions, and mean that as a compliment. The time around the Terracotta Warriors was not the part I would cut.
