Sobre este tour
Discover the gentle charm of Pinghu, a hidden gem of Jiaxing, on this easy private day trip from Shanghai. Your English-speaking guide and private car collect you from your hotel for a comfortable drive to this lakeside and seaside town where canals, gardens and coastline meet.
Begin at Nanhetou Old Street, a picturesque lane of grey flagstones, whitewashed walls, dark-tiled roofs, stone bridges and red lanterns. Stroll past the historic Danghu Academy and Zhichuan School while your guide shares old-town stories, and sample beloved local snacks such as Pinghu pickled eggs and chigao rice cake.
Next, visit Mo's Manor, an exquisite Jiangnan garden residence often called the finest preserved Qing dynasty mansion in the region. With its rockeries, courtyards and intricately carved windows, it even served as a filming location for the classic 'Dream of the Red Chamber'.
After a relaxed lunch, stroll along the shore of East Lake to the lotus-shaped Li Shutong Memorial Hall on a small island, a moving tribute to the famous artist-monk. Continue past the serene Baoben Temple and the ancient pagoda reflected on three-sided Yingwuzhou islet.
In the late afternoon, drive to Jiulongshan National Forest Park, where a coastal boardwalk links sea-view pavilions and scenic spots between green hills and open water. Finish at the Jintai sunset viewpoint to watch the sun sink into the sea, washing the tidal flats in red and gold.
The entire day is leisurely, with light flat walking and no hiking. Fully private and pet friendly, it is a wonderful authentic-China escape for couples and families. Your driver then returns you comfortably to Shanghai.

One of the best days of our trip. Shanghai is a must, and the private format is so much better.
Our family loved the Shanghai tour — the guide was patient with the kids and very flexible.
