About This Tour

An imperial-romance day trip 30km east of Xi'an. Morning: Huaqing Palace (Huaqing Chi), the Tang dynasty hot-spring complex where Emperor Xuanzong's love affair with Yang Guifei unfolded — walk her preserved bath chambers, the Marble Boat pavilion, and the Xi'an Incident memorial site (where Chiang Kai-shek was kidnapped in 1936). Lunch in nearby Lintong. Afternoon: cable car up Lishan Mountain for panoramic Wei River valley views and a hike through the Beacon Tower trail.
