What helped was simple: dietary questions in Xiamen were handled before we started, not halfway through the first tasting. That made the session much easier to enjoy.
Small tip: do not eat a large breakfast before the Xiamen tour. The portions at individual stops look modest, then suddenly you realise you have been tasting things for hours. I would still leave extra time for Anxi Tea Region Day from Xiamen.
Looking back, this felt like travelling with someone who knew the area, not following a person holding a flag. That difference showed most at Xiamen.
