For us, the stop I expected to like least turned into the one we discussed afterward. That is the advantage of tasting with someone who can explain what is in front of you. My only advice is not to shorten the time at Dongguan Old Town & Humen War Museums Day.
Practically speaking, translation mattered as much as the cooking in Guangzhou. We could ask the host ordinary questions instead of relying on a rehearsed demonstration.
The useful part in Guangzhou was not just trying food, but knowing what to order again later. I saved two dish names in my phone before the tour ended. I would rather keep the pause at Dongguan Old Town & Humen War Museums Day than add another stop.
