The part around Yixing Bamboo Sea and Zisha Pottery Day was unhurried, which mattered more to me than squeezing in one more stop. Shanghai was a good counterpoint.

Looking back, I would check the weather and dress in layers. We moved between the vehicle, open spaces and indoor sites often enough to notice the difference. With 13 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
