For us, what stayed with me wasn't the booking or the car. It was the time at Dongming Mountain Ancient Trail Day, when we could slow down and actually look around.
Practically speaking, pickup and the trail start were timed well, so we were walking before the busiest part of the day. Water and rest stops were discussed clearly. With 1 hour to work with, the balance felt sensible.
Expect uneven ground and a few sections where conversation stops because everyone is concentrating on their feet. The views near Dongming Mountain Ancient Trail Day repay the effort.
Honestly, I would book this again for the pacing, not because every stop was spectacular. The ordinary transitions made Shanghai and Hangzhou feel like a place rather than a set of postcards.
