Eleven days through the minority villages of Guizhou and Guangxi was the most enriching trip we've ever taken. From Guiyang we wove through Miao and Dong communities, each with their own dress, festivals and architecture, all the way to Guilin's karst country. Having a private guide and driver to reach these remote rural villages was essential, and the cultural access felt genuine, not staged.
Truly off the beaten path. Over eleven days we visited Miao silver-clad villages and Dong towns with their drum towers, crossed beautiful karst landscapes, and ended near Guilin. The depth of cultural immersion across Guizhou and Guangxi was extraordinary. Our driver handled mountain roads expertly and the guide spoke the local context fluently.
This is rural China at its richest. The Miao and Dong villages were welcoming and the scenery from Guiyang to Guilin constantly changed, terraces, rivers, karst peaks. Eleven days sounds long but it flew by. The private setup meant we could linger when a village market caught our eye.
An incredible journey into the minority cultures of Guizhou and Guangxi. We saw traditional Dong choir singing, Miao embroidery, and landscapes that tourists rarely reach. The transfers, guide and driver over eleven days were seamless. Among the most authentic experiences in China.
