8 Day Silk Road Trip of Dunhuang Jiayuguan with Accommodation

Eight days on the Silk Road from Dunhuang to Jiayuguan was extraordinary. The Mogao Grottoes' cave art is one of the wonders of the world, and standing at the Jiayuguan Fort, the western end of the Great Wall, was a powerful moment. Accommodation and guide were both excellent.

This trip combines the two great Silk Road sights perfectly: the breathtaking Buddhist murals at Mogao and the mighty Jiayuguan Great Wall fortress. Eight days with all accommodation arranged and a private guide made the long desert distances completely effortless.
