9-Day Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour via Everest

Nine days overland from Lhasa to Kathmandu on the Friendship Highway is the trip of a lifetime. Yamdrok Lake's turquoise was unreal, and standing at Everest Base Camp with clear views of the north face had me in tears. The Gyirong border crossing into Nepal was smooth thanks to our guide handling all the permits.

An epic cross-border journey. Shigatse's Tashilhunpo Monastery, the high passes, then EBC - the altitude is real so the gradual nine-day pace really helped us acclimatise. The private vehicle and driver on the Friendship Highway were excellent. Crossing at Gyirong into Nepal was the perfect finale.

Everything about this overland was world-class. Yamdrok, Shigatse, Everest Base Camp and the descent to the Gyirong border - nine days of constantly changing Himalayan scenery. Our guide arranged all the Tibet permits and the Nepal handover flawlessly. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Did this as a couple and it was extraordinary. The drive along the Friendship Highway through Shigatse to EBC, then crossing the border into Kathmandu - logistically complex but our private guide made it effortless. Watching sunrise on Everest from base camp justified the whole nine days.
