★★★★★ 4.8 (93)⏱ 3 days and 1 hour · Private🗣 English guide

Overview

A 3-day private Guizhou tour pairing the mighty Huangguoshu Waterfall with the Wanfenglin peak forest, ending with a sunrise bike ride through karst farmland.

About This Tour

Southwest Guizhou delivers two of China's signature karst landscapes on this easy private tour. Huangguoshu is one of Asia's largest waterfalls, a thundering curtain you can view from every angle and even walk behind through the Water-Curtain Cave, its power impossible to capture in words until you stand before it. The trip continues into the Tianxing Bridge waterfall cluster, with the delicate Silver-Chain Falls and the broad Doupotang Falls made famous as a filming location for the classic Journey to the West TV series. The finale is Wanfenglin, the 'Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks', where countless karst hills rise above green fields, winding rivers and Buyi ethnic villages in a rare and beautiful farmland panorama. You wake to a gentle e-bike ride along the Wanfenglin greenway between peaks and rice paddies, with a Buyi-style morning tea of drinks, fruit and sweets. Travelling with your own English-speaking guide and private vehicle, this tour suits first-time visitors to Guizhou, nature lovers and families. Best from spring to autumn when the fields are green. Itinerary may adjust based on weather, road and local regulations. Good to know: • Best season: spring to autumn; rainy season brings the most powerful waterfalls • Fitness level: easy, with some stairs at the waterfalls; an escalator is available for purchase • Lots of stone steps and spray near the falls, wear non-slip shoes and bring a light rain layer • The Wanfenglin ride is a relaxed e-bike on a flat greenway, suitable for most travellers • Default rooms are twins; solo travellers may incur a single-room supplement

Day 2: Huangguoshu Falls Cluster to Wanfenglin

After breakfast, return to Huangguoshu for a second look, exploring the lower Tianxing Bridge section and its waterfall cluster. Visit the Silver-Chain Falls, often called the most graceful in the Huangguoshu group, where water tumbles like a silver chain into a deep pool, then the broad Doupotang Falls, a filming location for the 1986 Journey to the West TV series. After lunch, drive about 2.5 hours to Wanfenglin, the 'Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks', where karst hills, green fields, winding rivers and old villages form a rare farmland landscape. Settle into a hotel at the foot of Shisun Peak and enjoy a relaxed evening with locally sourced cuisine. Meals: breakfast. Overnight near Wanfenglin.

Day 3: Wanfenglin Morning Ride | Departure from Xingyi

Rise for a gentle morning e-bike ride along the Wanfenglin greenway, rolling from Nahui Village past the Bagua terraced fields toward General Peak, weaving between karst spires and rice paddies in a scene like a living landscape painting. Along the way, savour a Buyi ethnic morning tea with drinks, fruit and sweets, a taste of local food culture.
