Looking back, what I remember is the change from one stop to the next: different room, different smell, different crowd. Handmade Gourmet One Day in Shunde — Cantonese Cuisine Capital was only one part of it.
The unglamorous part: translation mattered as much as the cooking in Guangzhou. We could ask the host ordinary questions instead of relying on a rehearsed demonstration.
Before you go, come hungry in Guangzhou and say clearly what you cannot eat. There was enough variety that skipping one item did not make the experience feel smaller. I would rather keep the pause at Handmade Gourmet One Day in Shunde — Cantonese Cuisine Capital than add another stop.
